Hear From Our Community

“I found up kid through indeed. I've been working with UpKid for over a month now. My favorite thing about it is the kids, my favorite thing about the app is being able to choose my schedules and it's impacted my life by showing me that I love working with children.”

“My name's Anna and I just completed my first shift with UpKid today. I found it on Handshake, looking for different jobs through my university, I'm a full-time student, and I really enjoyed today to be able to like know that I'm helping out at a place that's short-staffed and get to interact with the kids and have fun and also be able to take shifts as they work for my schedule. So it's just a good feeling and I'm sure it's good karma and the bonus is the pay.”
Anna Nielsen
Upkid community
“I love the app. I think it's so easy to use and then it's just super awesome because you just go on and it's easy to figure out what shifts you want to take and how much an hour you're going to get paid and what you're going to be doing and who you're going to be working with.”

No we do not as our teachers are considered independent contract workers.

Why do I need to apply to shifts in the app?

We ask that our teachers “apply” to a shift so that the child care providers can then accept the teacher. That way both parties are aware and have confirmed what day and time shift is being covered.
